LOREN: I read a news story about a photographer walking down a beach when he spotted an abandoned seal pup. By survival instinct, the mother and other seals rejected him because his fur was a different color. Although this story has a happy ending..the pup was rescued, is happy, healthy and living in a beautiful sanctuary, it reminded me of how helpless I felt as a child wanting to rescue every abandoned animal in exsistence. My heart bled heavy. After reading this story and seeing the photo of the pups face which gripped my heart mercilessly (old habits die hard), I felt the urge to draw this funny little piece. Interestingly after I finished it, knowing the unconditional love all of my animals have given me, I now see it as he's the one rescuing her!
I WOULD NEVER ABANDON YOU LIKE THEY DID
